I would really like to know the statistics of how often P2P connections need to resort to fully relaying in the wild. Maybe tailscale publishes data about it? I should go check...

I remember being quite frustrated with my P2P experiments from a few years ago, with both of the involved machines being behind CG-NATs and no IPv6. I couldn't guess the public IP:port pair of any outgoing UDP packet which foiled any P2P connection attempt I tried.

When IPv6 finally arrived also at my home router, it improved this situation significantly, though.
