Introducing Adaptive Dark Mode

Does this work for light mode, too? I suspect I'm in the minority given this is a tech circle, but I greatly prefer light mode because dark mode has always been harder for me to read for whatever reason. When I go to dark mode sites I click Reader View when possible to make it easier to read. It'd be cool if there was an "adaptive light mode" that kept the page structure the same but inverted the colors when the original is dark.
Dark mode only and monospaced body text are the two things I hate most about “techy” sites.
In the spring of 2019, Safari 12.1 became the first browser to support dark mode on the web.
It’s often said that Safari is today’s Internet Explorer, lacking behind on standards. I’d argue, Apple is on the forefront regarding standards in the interest of users, while taking their time with standards benefiting Google web developers.
