Ideas for social networks

Related, but for blogging, all of which could also be social media gimmicks.
I suspect that most of OP's ideas would only get off the ground if there was a pre-existing community that agreed to move to such a website because they all liked the idea as a form of collaborative art. Which, perhaps, is a better way to think about small social media websites.
A sea of tiny social networks, where one person with one account can take on different personas in different communities.
This is sort of the niche Discord has served for its users for a long while. Different profiles per server (although they of course reference the base user) and especially since the advent of threads it can function more as a social network than in the chat-only days.
Some servers are of course huge, but the grass roots discord server experience for small projects or communities does seem to fit this description quite well.
And even within a discord server, there are often mini communities. for example, I've joined a 'Roguelike games' server with over 15k members, and there's one channel for every popular roguelike game (at least 100). each of those channels has its group of regulars who don't interact with the other channels.
For me, Discord chats move too fast. I have trouble following what’s going on with communities that are bigger than like 10 people, or that have more than a few really chatty folks.
Threads help somewhat, but the interface is slippery enough that I loose track of things.
I love some of these.
I had an idea similar to Twelve, but I did 100, because 100 is the received-wisdom limit for number of people you can relate to in an organization. So you can only follow 100. I also thought follows must be reciprocal, and you could only update once a day. No filtering for posts. Also: only 1 update a day, and the feed truncates itself after N updates.
The allotment (sort of a community garden!) idea is also great.
